Changing for Good

by DiClemente, Norcross & Prochaska

James Prochaska, John Norcross and Carlo DiClemente wrote the book Changing For Good, based on their research on the psychology of making changes.

The original research was about helping people to stop smoking. Since then, the concepts they identified have been used in dealing with alcohol, weight problems, exercise, sexual behavior and other problem behaviors.

The 6 stages of change they identified are described in their book Changing For Good.

This website features a summary of these stages, as web pages as well as an ebook.
